Lauren Pelton

Lauren Pelton joined NHMC’s Latinx Stream Showcase as Second Assistant Camera on the short film You’ll Be Happy Here. She was born and raised in Thousand Oaks, California into a family of hard working film lovers. Lauren has wanted to work in the industry her whole life. At 18 years old, she flew to Honolulu, Hawaii where she started her first job as a camera department intern on Hawaii Five-0 season 10 (CBS). While working out on the field she knew for sure she wanted to pursue work in the camera department. Lauren then joined the Film, Television, and Media Arts program at Moorpark Community College and began working on an AA while making her own short films and meeting peers of similar interests. Since her first job she has been fortunate enough to work on an independent feature film, 7th & Union (Broken English Productions) as well as participate in a pilot and The Latinx Stream Showcase with NHMC as a second camera assistant. After graduating she plans to study cinematography and work towards becoming a professional Director of Photography.
